Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson

Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson.            5/5

This book in one word: Lively

Jenny Lawson having suffered from many mental and physical illnesses for many years manages to write a hilarious and comforting book of consciousness.

Lawson seems to write in a way that feels like a comforting hug from a long time friend. Her comedy is universal and non-filter style of writing invites you into her life and mind with no apologies.

The contrast between subject matters and comedy helps the mind absorb the themes without feeling burdened by such a powerful subject matter.

As someone with metal illnesses it was easy to feel connected with Lawson and see myself in her bad times as well as the good.

Lawson shows a future with mental illness that is real. That comes with struggle, weirdness and happiness.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a book that will make them laugh and feel full of cotton candy.

This is definitely my favourite book at the moment! Also Best. Cover. Ever!

I’ve been meaning to read this book for quite a while now! I’ve heard so many great reviews of the book and as someone who also struggles with a number of mental illnesses I think I could really empathize with the content! Thanks for posting! I’ll have to remember to pick up a copy of this book soon!
